Songs please Parrotheads, casual fans alike

COUNTRY-POP
Jimmy Buffett
"Take the Weather With You."
Grade: B-

You already know if you need Jimmy Buffett's latest album of rootsy pop and country swimming in tropical flavors. If you're a Parrothead, you'll find plenty to love, from the pool hall celebration of the country-flavored "Bama Breeze" to the aloha spirit blowing through "Duke's on Sunday." But "Take the Weather With You" has something for the casual fan, too. Buffett spotlights some stellar songwriters. There's the gorgeous "Weather With You," a Crowded House tune penned by brothers Neil and Tim Finn; "Wheel Inside the Wheel" from Louisiana's Mary Gauthier; and "Nothin' But a Breeze," Jesse Winchester's nearly 30-year-old tune that seems tailor-made for Buffett.
