More concerts

Erykah Badu and the Roots

Together, they came up with an incredible song featuring one of the most fun choruses to decipher ("You Got Me"); and apart they are simply, clearly two of the top R&B and rap acts out there. 8 p.m. May 23. $45-$100. Fox Theatre, 660 Peachtree St. N.E., Atlanta. 404-249-6400, www.ticketmaster.com.

Ledisi

Youthful, sensual and exciting are adjectives generally used to describe pop tarts or R&B sirens. Meet the phenomenal jazz singer who's the exception. 8:30 p.m. June 6. $25. Variety Playhouse, 1099 Euclid Ave., Atlanta. 404-249-6400, www.ticketmaster.com.

Steely Dan

Believe it or not, legendary studio wizards Donald Fagen and Walter Becker can actually bring that production magic to the concert stage. 8 p.m. June 11. $65-$95; $35 lawn. Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, 2200 Encore Parkway, Alpharetta. 404-733-5089, 404-249-6400, www.vzwamp.com.

R.E.M.

Georgia's Rock and Roll Hall of Famers roared back to life this year with their best album in years, and the new and forceful music has injected renewed fire into their live performances. 6:30 p.m. June 21. $65-$75; $35 lawn. Lakewood Amphitheatre, 2002 Lakewood Way, Atlanta. 404-443-5090, 404-249-6400, www.livenation.com.

Songs of Soul and Inspiration

Any lineup that includes Shirley Caesar, Chaka Khan, Dionne Warwick, Patti Austin, CeCe Winans, Yolanda Adams, Queen Latifah and Ann Nesby — all choreographed by Debbie Allen — almost can't help but be a moment in vocal history. And appropriately so, as it's part of the AARP's 50th anniversary celebration. 8 p.m. June 21. $25-$65. Philips Arena, One Philips Dr., Atlanta. 404-249-6400, www.ticketmaster.com.

Emmylou Harris

Everyone loves Emmylou, and if they don't, they should. 8 p.m. June 27. $25-$75. Chastain Park Amphitheatre, 4469 Stella Drive N.W., Atlanta. 404-733-4800, 404-249-6400, www.classicchastain.com.

Warped Tour

The traveling punk circus is a venerable institution after 14 years, and this year's lineup is outstanding. Some of the highlights: Say Anything, Angels and Airwaves, Relient K, the Academy Is ..., Reel Big Fish, Against Me, Norma Jean, Family Force 5 and Story of the Year. Noon July 9. $35; $29.50 advance. Lakewood Amphitheatre, 2002 Lakewood Way, Atlanta. 404-443-5090, 404-249-6400, www.livenation.com.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss

It seems like an odd pairing, but the merger of the Led Zeppelin frontman and the bluegrass sweetheart was magic on their 2007 album, "Raising Sand." T. Bone Burnett, who produced the album, will accompany the pair for this tour. 8 p.m. July 10. Non-table set-up. Sold out. $68.50-$78.50 reserved; $38.50 lawn. Chastain Park Amphitheatre, 4469 Stella Drive N.W., Atlanta. 404-249-6400, www.livenation.com.

Jill Scott

If you missed this dynamic live performer a few months ago at the Fox Theatre, don't short yourself twice. (If you did catch the R&B singer at the Fox, well, you already know why you should return.) 8 p.m. July 30. $38-$100. Chastain Park Amphitheatre, 4469 Stella Drive N.W., Atlanta. 404-733-4800, 404-249-6400, www.classicchastain.com.
