TV best: Jack Bauer returns; Larry the Cable Guy on CMT

Fans of “24” starving for more Jack Bauer are finally having their prayers answered with a two-hour film this Sunday.
The writer’s strike earlier this year forced Fox to kill the show last season. So it’s been 18 months since anybody has seen Bauer & Co. This taut film, set in Africa, bridges the gap between the end of the 2007 season and the upcoming one in January 2009.
Or on the lighter side of life, you can celebrate an early Christmas with the likes of Larry the Cable Guy on CMT Friday or Stephen Colbert on Comedy Central on Sunday.
MONDAY
• “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire” 4 p.m. WXIA — For the first time, teams of families will compete for the big prize. Today and tomorrow, check out the Young-Studer familiy from Lawrenceville.
• “How I Met Your Mother” 8:30 p.m. CBS — “Sopranos” star Jamie-Lynn Sigler guests as Lily’s teacher friend by day, drunk gal by night.
• “Prison Break” 9 p.m. Fox — T-Bag, the king of evil, might change his stripes.
• “Boston Legal” 10:02 p.m. ABC — SNL alum Cheri Oteri stars as a client who claims she was fired for voting for John McCain.
