Emory University has organized a series of free events as celebrated author Salman Rushdie returns to campus.
Rushdie, who won the prestigious Booker Prize for his novel "Midnight's Children", has been a distinguished writer in residence at Emory since 2007. When on campus Rushdie teaches, advises students and participates in public events.
He will participate in a free, public discussion about memoirs scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Feb. 27 in the Glenn Memorial Auditorium on campus.
Emory will host a free film series curated by Rushdie, who will introduce each film. The "Great Works of Fiction Made into Great Films" series begins Feb. 21 and concludes on March 21 with a showing of "Lolita" directed by Stanley Kubrick.
