Owen Wilson, Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate must have enjoyed the recent filming session at Atlanta’s venerable hangout Johnny’s Hideaway. Not long after taking over the landmark lounge for a couple of days of shooting for “Hall Pass,” the new Farrelly brothers flick that’s been filming all over town, the trio returned one night last week. This time was just for fun. “They danced and partied all night to the amazement of Johnny’s customer’s,” our source told Buzz. A good time was had by all. Make that almost all. “One dejected man was overheard saying that Christina Applegate wouldn’t dance with him,” our spy said. “Go figure.” Perhaps her suitor hadn’t heard the news that she is officially spoken for? She and musician boyfriend Martyn Lenoble got engaged on Valentine’s Day but haven’t yet set a date.
Dining for dollars
You gotta eat. Why not dine and donate at the same time? The 26th Annual March of Dimes Dining Out event, chaired by philanthropist Cecilia Wright with restaurateur Riccardo Ullio as honorary chair, takes place at several participating restaurants starting at 7 p.m. May 14, with an after-party at 9 p.m. at the newly renovated Buckhead Theatre (formerly known as The Roxy). Last year's event raised more than $80,000 and Wright told Buzz that corporate sponsorships are especially strong this year, saying it "just goes to show how the community rallies behind an important cause, even in tough economic times.” Tables for 10 are $1,000 or $1,500, depending on which restaurant you select. The Morehouse School of Medicine's third annual Gloster Society Recognition Dinner, held this month at the Four Seasons, raised more than $100,000. “During these challenging economic times, we are truly grateful for our many extraordinary supporters,” said Sandra Harris-Hooker, interim dean for academic affairs. Launched in 2007, the Hugh M. Gloster Society is a group of major donors named after the late president emeritus of Morehouse College, who was one of the school's founders. The event, emceed by CNN anchor T.J. Holmes with entertainment by jazz recording artist and writer Kathleen Bertrand, honored U.S. Surgeon General Regina Benjamin, an alumna and former trustee of the Morehouse School of Medicine. Because she was unable to attend, acting Deputy U.S. Surgeon General David Rutstein accepted the award on her behalf.
