Editor’s Note: This story was updated to clarify that the event on March 21 is “Price is Right Live,” which is a live touring show modeled after the television classic.
Soon and very soon, your “Price is Right” dreams could come true right here in Atlanta − whether that dream’s an all expenses paid trip to Galápagos Islands or a brand spanking new front-loading washer and dryer.
The live version of TV’s longest-running game show will be at the Fox Theatre, 660 Peachtree St. NE. at 7:30 p.m. March 21.
Diehard fans and those simply hoping to win big from the infamous Showcase Showdown have marked their calendars since the big news was announced by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in October.
Those looking to cash in on that money-making legacy on March 21 should take note of these four things to know about becoming a contestant on the “Price is Right Live" in Atlanta:
*Note: Audience tickets have been sold out on the Fox Theatre’s website for the “Price is Right,” but additional tickets are available at stubhub.com starting at $110.
It doesn’t cost a penny to play.
Though those in the audience have to buy tickets, contestants do not have to purchase tickets to play. The key is arriving to the Fox for the 1 p.m. casting call on March 21.
Arrive early for consideration.
Make it to the Fox Theatre early on March 21, because producers will begin registering potential contestants by 1 p.m. Producers suggest potential guests show up as early as possible to be considered. Registration closes precisely at the scheduled showtime of 7:30 p.m.
Know the registration process.
After arriving, every eligible potential contestant, ages 18 years or older, must provide their first and last name and day of birth (0-31) to producers via registration cards, which will be handed out by Fox Theatre staff. There is no ticket purchase required to register to be a contestant, and will not be considered a factor in determining eligible contestants or in the contestant selection process.
You might not make it. Be prepared.
Only eight lucky contestants will get the chance to guess prices and win appliances, cash or even a shiny new car.
According to the “Price is Right Live” website, individuals who are not selected as contestants and do not have tickets must leave the venue after the end of the casting process. However, if you purchase tickets, you can still enjoy the show − even without the glory.
