Atlanta animal lovers could be celebrating two wins on Sunday.
The possible win for the Atlanta Falcons, and potentially bringing home a new pet − for free.
Lifeline Animal Project, a nonprofit that supports no-kill animal shelters across metro Atlanta, announced it will honor the Atlanta Falcons by waiving adoptions fees, including microchip, spay/neuter and vaccinations, for all cats and dogs weighing more than 25 pounds on Sunday at its four shelters.
The Falcons’ clinching the NFC Championship inspired the Super Bowl promotion, according to Lifeline’s website.
“We are so proud to be Atlantans. And when we watched our Atlanta Falcons clinch the NFC Championship, we knew we had to celebrate! It's time to RISE UP, Atlanta!”
In addition to waiving the fees, Lifeline will also host a Kitten Bowl Party from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at its Cat Adoption Center at 3172 E. Ponce De Leon Ave.
The festivities will include "game-day refreshments, fun disco strobe lights and adorable cats who will be playing their own games on the cat center’s football field," according to a release about the party.
