Swift-Cantrell Park in Kennesaw is preparing for costumed families for its Fall-O-Ween event Oct. 14.

Can’t wait all of October for Halloween? Or maybe you want to get a test run to see if that homemade costume will handle the wear and tear of blocks of candy-getting?

Well the Kennesaw parks department is hosting a costume event for families at its largest park on Oct. 15.

Fall-O-Ween will run from 5 to 9 p.m. at Swift-Cantrell Park with free carnival games, trick-or-treating and a “Monster Mash Dance Party.”

Judges will determine the best costumes and hand out prizes every half hour, the city said.

At 7:30 p.m., the 2017 live-action “Beauty and the Beast” remake will be projected onto an inflatable screen, so bring a blanket or chair — leave at home the beach umbrellas or anything else that would block views.

Concessions will be available for purchase.

Look for parking inside the park, 3140 Old 41 Highway, or at nearby Kennesaw Elementary School.
