A Publix in north Fulton County offers classes on how to make gingerbread houses, brunch, sushi, cookies and more.

Several Publix grocery stores across the country offer cooking classes, but just one of them is in the state of Georgia.

That Publix is in Alpharetta. The grocery store at 4305 State Bridge Road offers a variety of classes each month through its Apron Cooking School program.

And just in time for the holiday season, the school is offering a handful of classes on how to make gingerbread houses and more tasty holiday treats.

From Dec. 9 to 23, the Publix in north Fulton County will have six classes teaching folks how to make gingerbread houses. The first is on Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. and cost $60 per family of up to four participants.

Publix provides all the materials and candy needed to make your gingerbread house, you just have to bring spirit and creativity. One adult is required per family group and participating children should be at least 4 years old. The class lasts about 2 hours.

Other classes offered in December include Holiday Cookie Craze, Sushi 101, Basic Knife Skills, Southern Basics, Holiday Brunch, Holiday Wine Dinner and more.

The Aprons Cooking School in Alpharetta has a staff of six chefs. Classes are hands-on that cover cuisines from around the world, trendy topics, special techniques and sometimes include appearances from celebrity chefs.
