This Spring’s slate of outdoor festivals in metro Atlanta:

April 24: Taste of Henry, at McDonough Heritage Park, 101 Lake Dow Road McDonough. A variety of food to sample from more than 30 area restaurants.

Sweet Auburn Springfest is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

* April 24-26: Inman Park Festival and Tour of Homes, at Inman Park, Euclid Avenue at Elizabeth Street, Atlanta. Arts and crafts, street market, live entertainment, dance festival, children’s activities, food and beverages.

April 25: Senoia Goes Green, at Downtown Senoia, Main Street. Earth Day event is a sidewalk art show featuring artists who work with recycled materials.

April 25:Touch a Truck, at 13450 Cogburn Road, Alpharetta. Activities include inflatables, interactive games, and exploring the vehicles and trucks on display.

April 25:Kids Helping Kids Spring Carnival, at Johns Creek United Methodist Church, 11180 Medlock Bridge Road, Duluth. Festivities include train rides, games, silent auction, inflatables and magic show.

April 25:Shakespeare’s Birthday and Open House Celebration, at Conant Performing Arts Center, Oglethorpe University, 4484 Peachtree Road N.E., Atlanta. Features arts and crafts, face painting, stage combat demos and performances. Children can dress up in Elizabethan costumes, meet the Queen, and visit with Shakespeare. Recommended for children ages 3-12.

April 25:Sheep to Shawl, at the Lazy D Farm, 848 Bishop Road, Ball Ground. Includes sheep shearing, blacksmithing, butter churning, quilting, woodworking, spinning wool/cotton yarn, pottery and beehive demonstrations. Kids activities.

* April 25-26:Smyrna Spring Jonquil Festival, at Smyrna Village Green, 2800 King St., Smyrna. Arts and crafts, food, entertainment stage and a variety of children’s activities.

April 25-26:Celebrate Clayton: Rabun County Music and Art Fest, at Downtown Clayton, Main Street and U.S. 76. Art, music, crafts, food and gardening.

April 25-26:Griffin May Fling, at Griffin City Park, 601 Camp Northern. Annual arts and crafts festival with food and local entertainment.

April 25-26:Springtime at the Homestead, at Red Top Mountain State Park, 50 Lodge Road, Cartersville. Demonstrators present pioneer life from the 1800s at the Vaughn Cabin. Activities include quilting, spinning, open hearth cooking, blacksmith, woodcarving, candle dipping and more.

April 25-26:Sweet P’s Arts Festival, at St. Peter and St. Paul Episcopal Church, 1795 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta. More than 80 exhibitors, live music and food.

* April 26:Feria Latina, at Stone Mountain Park, 1000 Robert E. Lee Drive, Stone Mountain. Latin-themed festival including rides, food, entertainment and laser show. On the Memorial Lawn.

May 2:Spring Splatters: A Celebration of Arts in Alpharetta, at Crabapple Government Center, 12624 Broadwell Road, Alpharetta. Artist demos, interactive arts and crafts projects, children’s activities and refreshments.

May 2:Taste of East Cobb, at Merchants Walk, 1289 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta. Food from area restaurants, live music, silent auction, “Best Taste of East Cobb” voting contest, face painting, sand art, beverage & dessert booths, fine arts & crafts.

May 2-3:Cotton Pickin’ Fair, at Cotton Pickin’ Fair, 18830 Ga. 85, Gay. With skilled artisans and antique specialists, the fair shares remnants of farm life in days gone by.

* May 3:Fiesta Atlanta — Cinco de Mayo Celebration, at Centennial Olympic Park, 265 Centennial Olympic Park Drive N.W., Atlanta. Family festival celebrates Latino culture. Continuous live performances on two stages, vendor booths offering free product samples, arts and crafts and authentic Latino foods.

May 3:Serenbe MayDay Celebration, at Serenbe, 9110 Selborne Lane, Palmetto. Live music, food and drink, art, shopping, green vendors and kids activities.

* May 8-10:Sweet Auburn Springfest, at Auburn Avenue Neighborhood, Auburn Avenue and Courtland Street, Atlanta. The 25th anniversary of one of the largest multicultural festivals in the Southeast, featuring food, film, art and music.

May 9:“Age is Beauty” Festival, at Greenbriar Mall, 2841 Greenbriar Parkway S.W., Atlanta. Belly Dance lessons, make overs, photo shoot and 8x10 photo’s for ladies ages 60 and older.

May 9:Ole Stockbridge Days Festival, at Stockbridge Elementary, 4617 N. Henry Blvd., Stockbridge. Activities include arts and crafts, food vendors and a children’s area with rides, inflatables and climbing wall.

May 9-10:20th Annual Indian Festival and Pow Wow, at Boling Park, 1162 Marietta Highway, Canton. American Indian dance competition, warriors on horseback, buffalo show, primitive skills demonstrations, living tipi village, reptile show and arts and crafts vendors.

May 14:Taste of Alpharetta, at Old Milton Parkway at Wills Park, Alpharetta. Sample appetizers, entrees and desserts from more than 70 restaurants. Kids zone, chef’s competition, cooking demonstrations and exhibits.

May 15-17:Canton Festival of the Arts, at Downtown Canton, 151 Elizabeth St. Juried show of fine arts. Also, food, entertainment, Serenity Garden and an author’s fair.

May 23:Annual Pig-Out, at Sautee Nacoochee Center, 283 Ga. 255 N., Sautee Nacoochee. Sautee Nacoochee volunteer firefighters celebrate the 20th anniversary of the festival with pork, chicken, Brunswick stew, firehouse beans and slaw.

May 30-31:Spring Arts & Crafts Festival, at Blairsville Town Square. Juried artists and craftsmen exhibits. Also, student art exhibit, live music and dance performances.

June 6:Penny McHenry Hydrangea Festival, at Downtown Douglasville, Old Courthouse, 6840 W. Church St. Garden tours, the Main Street market, flower show, food and entertainment.

June 13:Crepe Myrtle Festival, at Hammond Park, 705 Hammond Drive, Sandy Springs. Entertainment, children’s activities, food, arts and crafts, and a car show.

June 19-20:Roswell Magnolia Storytelling Festival, at Bulloch Hall, 180 Bulloch Ave., Roswell. Tall tales, short stories, real-life incidents and stories of imagination and fantasy told by storytellers, interpreters and musicians from Georgia and throughout the Southeast.

June 27:Summerfest on the Green, at On the Green (Morrow Festival Park), 5917 Reynolds Road, Morrow. Games and activities for children, a climbing wall, hot air balloon rides and fireworks.
