COASTING THROUGH WINTER
Now might not be the best time to break out the Speedo, but you can start priming the pump for the not-too-distant warmer months with the Malibu Coast. Visions of palms and thongs replace barren trees and long underwear with a trio of coconut rum, tequila and pineapple juice. A splash of blue curacao adds some color.

SEXING IT UP
Still randy after Valentine's Day? The Berry Sexy Martini could be the fuel for some hot, high-octane hijinks. In a mixer, shake up 1 1/2 ounces of Jose Cuervo Clasico, 1/2 ounce each of triple sec and raspberry liqueur, 2 ounces of sweet and sour mix, and 1 ounce of cranberry juice. Line the rim of a chilled martini glass with lime and dip it in sugar. Pour in the shaken concoction and start dispensing the cheesy come-ons.
PRESIDENTIAL PICK-ME-UP
Monday is Presidents Day, but celebratory traditions are few and far between. What are we supposed to do, don powder wigs and chop down cherry trees? Try raising a glass to our country's first president with the Washington Cocktail. According to www.webtender.com, it calls for 1 1/2 ounces of dry vermouth, 3/4 ounce of brandy, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar syrup and 2 dashes of bitters. If alcohol really is truth serum for some, George's "I cannot tell a lie" mantra might ring true after a few rounds.
