Point of View's Peachtree MartiniPublished on: 03/10/2005
MARTINIS WITH A VIEW
Just last week, A Point of View, the bar at Nikolai's Roof in the Hilton Atlanta (255 Courtland St., downtown), began designating Wednesdays as Martini Night. Makes sense, since the restaurant is known for its vodka selection. Bartender Paul Cullin helped create a collection of specialty 'tinis with a discounted price of $5. Stoli orange vodka does the two-step with Nikolai's homemade peach-infused vodka in the Peachtree Martini. While it's heavy on the alcohol, a lower octane version can be made by cutting back on the peach vodka and substituting with peach juice to taste.

WINDY 'TINIS
Across town at the Mondo Mocha Café wine bar at the Radisson Atlanta Windy Hill (2055 S. Park Place, Atlanta), martinis get regaled on Wednesdays, too. Its signature selections are also priced $5 each. This includes a potpourri of flavors like the Black Raspberry, Lemon Drop and self-titled Mondo Mocha-tini. If you're in the mood for nosh, these cocktails can join cut-rate tapas at 99 cents per plate.
IRISH IMMIGRANT
The folks at Tullamore Dew have put an Irish accent on the classic Manhattan for the upcoming holiday. The Paddy O'Manhattan mixes 4 1/2 ounces of Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey, 1 1/2 ounces of sweet vermouth and a dash of Angostura bitters. A cherry garnish is thrown in for good measure.
