Cocktail Hour's Lemon Drop MartiniPublished on: 04/06/2006
TOUCH OF CLASS
Want to pour like a pro? The Trendy Cocktails & Appetizers class on April 7 at Cocktail Hour (2385 Peachtree Road N.E., Buckhead, 404-846-4414) teaches the tricks of the mixing trade. This retailer of cocktail accessories has one boozy curriculum. For $35, learn how to make the Pomegranate Martini and the Lemon Drop Martini. Tuition includes free finger food. Since guests sample their creations, students must be over 21. Class starts at 6:30 p.m.
TAKE THE CAKE
Bypass dessert at South City Kitchen (1675 Cumberland Parkway, Smyrna) with its version of the Pineapple Upside Down Cake Martini. Vanilla lovers get a serious jolt. Absolut vanilla vodka and Navan vanilla cognac team with amaretto, pineapple juice and a splash of grenadine. Walk away with a buzz without getting icing on your fingers.
WINE TIME
For just $20, fans of the grape can sample wine for three hours at the Smyrna Market Village Wine Stroll on April 8. Many of the shopping center's retailers offer free wine and food from 2 to 5 p.m. Legal drinkers can buy tickets at the Village's resident wine shop, the Wine Cellars (1295 W. Spring St., Suite 100, Smyrna). Order advance tickets at www.winecellars
online.com.
