Northsiders seem to have an enormous appetite for pizza. The area is rife with restaurants that turn out pies to eat in or take out, but that hasn't stopped two area entrepreneurs from adding two more pizza destinations to the dining scene.
• In Cumming, the pizza newbie is Sidney's Pizza Parlor. Sound familiar? It's the casual offshoot of Sidney's, a more formal Italian eatery that opened last fall in the Vickery Village complex. Owner Chari Harlan took over another space in the retail district, below the main Sidney dining rooms, and opened a comfortable, casual operation that caters to families and those on the go. Even the kids in their dirty Little League uniforms are welcome, said Harlan.

Inside, there's room for 49; the patio has six picnic tables with umbrellas. The wait staff will deliver your order, from the calamari and chicken wing appetizers to a 16-inch pie. In between, the menu features calzones, stromboli, subs of eggplant, meatballs and chicken, and salads.
Build your own pizza, with thin or thick crust, topped with an array of favorite toppings or go with one of the house specials. The big hits so far: A meatlover's feast of sausage, pepperoni, bacon and prosciutto; the Bianca, with basil, mozzarella and ricotta; or the Suprema, sausage, pepperoni, peppers, onions and black olives. Pies start at $8.95 and go up according to size and toppings. You can also pick up a slice for $1.95.
Save room for dessert. There are cannolis, spumoni, New York style cheesecake and tiramisu. A small alcohol list features draft and bottled beers and several wines. But the big beverages are the floats. Pick from a Black Cow (Coke and ice cream), a Tweety Bird (lemonade and ice cream) or a Porky Pibb (Mr. Pibb with ice cream).
