What's Buckhead Burrito Grill doing in Kennesaw? For the last five years, the name of the Cobb-based restaurant has thrown diners for a bit of a loop, but it hasn't kept them from finding the place and coming back.
"When we opened, the joke was that you had to go to Buckhead to get a burrito," said owner Bob Ross. "We were one of the first burrito places outside the Perimeter. We brought Buckhead to Kennesaw."

Ross and his wife, Melissa, were living in Kennesaw when they started stuffing burritos from a small house they refurbished. Business has been so good in the last few years that they recently moved a few blocks down Cherokee Street to a new location in the Shiloh Crossing shopping center with more elbow room inside and out.
"We're much closer to I-75 now," Ross said. "And we doubled our space. We have seats for 68 inside and we solved our parking problems."
Burritos and beyond
If there's a single item that has kept diners coming back, it's the fish tacos, Ross said.
"It's the one thing we're known for," he said. "We put tilapia and some secret ingredients into a soft-shelled taco, then top them with a jalapeno yogurt sauce we call a Mexican tartar sauce."
You can also get fish in a burrito, or opt for the steak, fish, chicken, veggies, rice and cheese fillings. Fast-foodies will chuckle at the "BFC," filled with fried chicken. Can't decide? Go for the works, with meat, rice, beans, cheese, salsa, lettuce, sour cream and guacamole. The same ingredients can be rolled into a soft- or hard-shelled taco. Fajitas are filled with fried chicken or shrimp; quesadillas come with cheese, meat or veggies or the most popular filling, chicken pesto.
Lighter options include chicken tortilla soup and salads with greens, meat, beans, cheese and sour cream, piled atop crispy flour tortillas. The short menu also offers cheese, meat and veggie nachos; chips and salsa or guacamole; cheese dip; and steamed tortillas. And you can add more of any ingredient to your dish for a small extra charge.
Those with a serious sweet tooth will want to save room for the Burrito's signature desserts: Snickers, Reese's and 3 Musketeers bars rolled into tortillas and deep-fried.
