Planning to eat out this week? Wednesday would be a good day.
More than 150 metro Atlanta restaurants will participate Wednesday in Dining Out for Life — donating 20 percent or more of their profits to the charity Open Hand. For a complete list of participating restaurants, log on to diningoutforoh.org/restaurants.html.
Many of the restaurants are planning special events:
• At Home restaurant in Buckhead, the theme will be “Bringing Broadway Home,” with Broadway highlights performed all evening.
• At Aja in Buckhead, drummers and a Chinese dragon will entertain.
• Souper Jenny in Buckhead, open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., will donate 100 percent of profits to Open Hand.
The Atlanta-based charity provides 5,000 meals a day, along with counseling and therapy, to homebound seniors and people living with a chronic or terminal illness. Many meal recipients live with diabetes, heart or kidney disease, HIV/AIDS, or cancer.
