Bagel Boys go beyond schmear

It's been three years since the Bagel Boys Cafe burst onto the Alpharetta food scene. The small eatery at 11770 Haynes Bridge Road has become a popular destination for those who want to grab a veggie and egg sandwich or breakfast burrito in the morning, or pick up a turkey and feta wrap for lunch. And, of course, you can get bagels spread with an assortment of schmears. The concept has been so well-received that owner John Lamb sees more Bagel Boys in the Northside's future. He's currently looking for a second restaurant site above the Perimeter.

But Lamb isn't resting on his rollups. He's unveiled a new menu that includes pita wraps, croissant sandwiches and weekly specials, such as bruschetta chicken salad, Cuban panini and Taylor pork roll sandwiches (a favorite of anyone who's spent a summer at the Jersey shore). Prices range from around $1 to $6.50. Try them out from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday; 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday; and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. 770-569-1009; www.bagelboyscafe.com.
