The economy might be putting the squeeze on, but she's your mom. Sunday is her day and chefs across the metro area are gearing up for diners who will arrive with entire families to celebrate the main lady in their lives. Need some suggestions? Here are just a few — with the usual holiday reminder: Make a reservation!
• Dine overlooking the rose gardens at Villa Christina (4000 Summit Blvd., Dunwoody, 404-303-0133, www.villachristina.com). From 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. guests can savor a lavish buffet of seafood, prime rib, pasta salads, traditional breakfast favorites and desserts. And here's the best part: The staff of the restaurant will entertain the tykes while mom has a second mimosa. Games, arts and crafts and a moonwalk will keep them busy. $45 for adults; $25 for children 6 to 12; free for those younger than 5.
INTOWN / NORTHSIDE
• Just for mom, the Food Studio will open on Sunday for brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $30 per person; $10 per child, 12 and younger. The restaurant, located in the King Plow Arts Center (887 W. Marietta St., West Side, 404-815-6677, www.fifthgroup.com), also serves dinner from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
• If Mom's into meat, here's a place that will tickle her taste buds. Morton's the Steakhouse, with locations in Buckhead and downtown, has a $59 three-course menu of salads, dessert and a choice of filets, as well as fish and chicken. The Buckhead kitchen (3379 Peachtree Road, 404-816-6535) is open from 3 to 9 p.m. The downtown location (303 Peachtree Center Ave., 404-577-4366) starts service at 4 p.m. www.mortons.com.
• The Grand Hyatt (3300 Peachtree Road, 404-364-3933) hosts an enormous spread in its ballroom from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Start with a breakfast of waffles, omelets, pastries and smoked salmon, then move right to lunch with seafood, honey-glazed ham, leg of lamb, prime rib, grilled chicken, salads, pastas and desserts. Kids will go for the mini hot dogs, chicken fingers and waffle fries. Reservations are $58 per person; $27.50 for children 5 to 12; younger than 4, free.
• At the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead (3434 Peachtree Road, 404-240-7035), a crew of pastry chefs are preparing 100 desserts to mark the 100th anniversary of Mother's Day. Chocolate ice box cake and strawberry shortcake will be among the array of sweets that are part of the hotel's extensive buffet — $82 for adults, $41 for children 6 to 12.
• Treat mom to a view and a Bloody Mary with a table at the Sun Dial atop the Westin Peachtree Plaza (210 Peachtree St., 404-589-7506). From 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., watch the city go by from the revolving dining room as you dine on a $45, three-course menu of appetizer, entree and dessert. COBB / NORTHWEST
- Let mom pick her favorites from the brunch buffet at Muss and Turner's, 1675 Cumberland Parkway in Vinings. From 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the array of goodies will include eggs with truffle oil, smoked salmon, duck and potato hash, biscuits and gravy, mushroom and Vidalia strata, salads, desserts and cheeses. - It doesn't get much more scenic than this: brunch or dinner on the banks of the Chattahoochee. Head over to Canoe, 4199 Paces Ferry Road, for an a la carte brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Among the choices: pecan sticky buns, she-crab soup, mushroom and goat cheese quiche and shrimp salad. - Gather the family around a communal table at the Melting Pot for Mother's Day. Each mom will receive a rose and a certificate for 15 percent off her next visit. - Diners on the east side of Cobb have two Sunday options. One is Trilogy, 4930 Davidson Road, where a buffet of brunch favorites will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Seats are $23.95 for adults; $8.95 for children. 770-971-4770; www.trilogydining.net.
- The recently-opened Paper Mill Grill, 305 Village Place, will serve lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pick your favorite from the pasta bar, or order eggs Benedict, fried chicken, prime rib or ham before heading to the ice cream station. - Both the Kennesaw and Vinings locations of Marlow's Tavern are setting the table for mom. The restaurants' regular brunch menu, featuring tenderloin and eggs, breakfast burritos and egg sandwiches, will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner begins at 3 and goes until midnight. GWINNETT / NORTH FULTON

- It will be a bittersweet Mother's Day for Maria Fundora, who owns Casa Nuova in Cumming with her husband, Antonio. Fundora is taking the day to honor the memory of her late mother and to raise money for cancer research at the same time. At 2 and 6 p.m., the couple will host seatings of a $50 wine dinner to benefit the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer. - Italian delights also will be on the Mother's Day menu of Toni's Casa Napoli, 2486 Mount Vernon Road, Dunwoody. From noon to 6 p.m., enjoy heart-shaped ravioli, baked clams or stuffed mushrooms to start, followed by lemon sole Florentine, filet, veal Parm, snapper, chicken or veal, and dessert. - Is Mom a meat and seafood lover? Head to Cabernet, 5575 Windward Parkway in Alpharetta. From 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., chef Richard Holley will oversee a buffet of the menu's best items, including lobster tails, oysters, leg of lamb, prime rib and shrimp cocktail. Traditional breakfast goodies Ñ Belgian waffles, omelets, croissants Ñ will also be served. Brunch reservations are $44.95 for adults; $19.95 for children 6 to 12.
