'More goodies' at revamped Bailey'sFor the Journal-Constitution
Published on: 06/12/2008
After being a fixture on the Powder Springs food scene for 15 years, Bailey's Restaurant has a new look and new menu. The restaurant at 4041 Atlanta St. recently had a facelift that added a new, softer color scheme, new floors and a more contemporary ambience. Owner Theresa Taoushiani has also revamped the menu, adding barbecued ribs, chicken and pork with her own secret sauce; a Boerewors roll, a South African take on a hot dog; Greek gyros in pita bread; and kabobs.
Early birds will find there's now no need to be at the door when Bailey's opens at 6:30 a.m.; breakfast is on the menu all day, with several new additions to the lineup, including egg scrambles, breakfast wraps and pancakes with chocolate chips, blueberries, strawberries or bananas. Seniors can still get their start-of-the-day meal for $3.60.
"Nothing is going away; we just have added more goodies," said Taoushiani, who runs the restaurant with her husband and brother.
To celebrate the new menu and decor, Taoushiani has organized a fund-raiser to benefit Cobb Children's Theatre. From 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, guests are invited to drop by and sample barbecue pork sandwiches, enjoy live music and take a dance lesson from the theater's ensemble. The event is free, but donations will be accepted on behalf of the nonprofit group. For details: 770-519-4909.
