Quick Guide to hiking trails
The average weekend recreational hiker could spend several years on the trails in Georgia without retracing his steps. The state is laced with hiking trails, from the Okefenokee Swamp to the 23-mile Pine Mountain Trail in middle Georgia to the magnificent north Georgia mountains.
In the north Georgia area alone, there are 92 trails totaling 438
miles. The most famous and most often used is the Appalachian Trail, which
has its southern terminus at Springer Mountain near Amicalola Falls State
Park.
