The park contains a wide variety of hiking trails and natural habitats in addition to providing recreational activities such as fishing, picnicking and boating. One of the most popular paths is the Cochran Fitness Trail. The Recreation Area consists of 16 different land units located north and northeast of Atlanta.
Degree of Difficulty: Easy to moderate
Fees: $3 daily parking fee; $30 annual pass
Dogs: Permitted; Must be under control and kept on leash at all times
Hours of operation: Day use only; Summer (Mar.15 - Oct.31) 7 AM to DARK, Winter (Nov. 1 - Mar.14) 7 AM to DARK
How to get there (main Island Ford Parkway Unit): Go north on GA 400, take Exit 6 (Northridge), turn right at end of ramp, and stay in "keep moving" lane onto Dunwoody Place. Turn right at second light on Roberts Drive, go approximately 1 mile and turn right into park entrance.
• Cochran Fitness Trail is located on the Cobb County side of the Chattahoochee River on Interstate North Parkway
