Unlike those who climb rocks or mountains, tree climbers aren't sports competitors. They're simply trying to get a new perspective on life. Both recreational and educational, tree climbing clubs are sprouting up all over North Georgia. And, the only requirements are good health and no fear of heights. (Many sleep in the trees they climb)

Dancing With Trees
The Vision of E.Y.E.
Tips to protect yourself and the trees:
Tip 1 - Wear light running shoes or sneakers and loose-fitting clothes. Long pants can save you from scrapes.
Tip 2 - Don't climb trees in parks.
Tip 3 - Never climb dead trees or branches. Test the branch you are going to grab to be sure that it's strong enough to hold you.
Tip 4 - Trees with limbs bigger than your arm are the best for climbing. Stay near the trunk, where the tree is strongest.
Tip 5 - Always look out for bird and hornet nests, tree holes where animals live and poison ivy.
Tip 6 - Always keep three points of contact -- two feet and one hand -- with the tree.
Tip 7 - Never hang from your arms or try to balance on two feet.
