But starting Wed., May 1 through July 31, eBay is offering a new, free service exclusively in Atlanta that gives all of us metro area bargain hunters another option for selling our unwanted goods.

The eBay Selling Assistant service sends a representative to your home to pick up any items you have and list them on eBay.

The process sounds pretty simple: Schedule an eBay pick up from your home via phone ( 1-855-EBAY-VAN, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Sat. EST) or online , eBay selling assistants pick up items from your residence and take them to a processing partner, the eBay selling assistant lists your items for sale on eBay and ships them to buyers when purchased.

You receive 75 percent of the sale proceeds and if items don’t sell they can be returned or donated to charity. Shipping costs to the buyer are paid from the 25 percent that goes to eBay.

Any one item must weigh 25 pounds or less and will have two opportunities to sell in eBay's seven day auction format. Selling Assistants are trained to list your items in the best appropriate format for your listing to be most successful.
