She managed to stop the planned statewide celebration that year, but I don’t have to tell you how miserably her larger mission failed.

There are plenty of thoughtful things you can do for mom that don’t require spending lots of money, but if you want to buy your mom a great gift, here are some of my favorites this year.

Some may be more affordable than others, but as history has shown us, you can’t put a price limit on your mama…

  Stephanie Kantis Coronation Chain: I love the Coronation Chain by Palm Beach based jewelry designer Stephanie Kantis not just because it is elegant and beautiful, but also very practical.  JCP Bijoux Bar: JC Penney (JCP) recently launched the Bijoux Bar featuring affordable jewelry from some of the biggest names in design. Kara Ross, for example, created a collection modeled after her fine jewelry which sells at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus for upwards of $4,000. Her JCP line ranges from $45 to $225.
