Disney on Ice Giveaway winners

By Nedra Rhone

A big thank you to everyone who entered yesterday's Disney on Ice: Worlds of Fantasy giveaway!

And a big congratulations to winners Matthew Clarke of Johns Creek and Sonia Jenkins of Ellijay. Have fun!!!

So many of you gave fond memories and funny stories about a range of Disney characters -- Mater has a huuuuugee fan club -- but I wanted to share an email from one 26-year-old reader who said she couldn't choose one favorite story or character because she loves them all.

Instead, she listed all the things she has learned from her many years watching Disney and the lessons she hopes her 3-year-old daughter will learn as well:

-Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. (LILO and Stitch)

  -  Sometimes the right path is not the easiest one (Pocahontas)

 - The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all. (Mulan)

 - Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it. (Lion king)

 - When life gets you down, you know what you got to do? Just keep swimming! ( Finding Nemo)

  - Don't matter what you look like. Don't matter what you wear. How many rings you got on your finger, we don't care. Don't matter where you come from. Don't even matter what you are. Find out who you are. You got to dig a little deeper. It really ain't that far. When you find out who you are, you'll find out what you need. Blue skies and sunshine guaranteed! (Mama Odee)

-Remember you're the one who can fill the world with sunshine. (Snow White)

  - All your dreams can come true- If we have the courage to pursue them. (Walt Disney)
