The Queen of Soul won’t be coming to Atlanta next month, after all.
Aretha Franklin has canceled her Sept. 21 date at the Fox Theatre, with “unfortunate circumstances” cited as the reason.
Refunds will be issued at point of purchase. Those who purchased tickets online or by phone will receive a refund to their credit card within 5-10 business days.
Franklin, 71, postponed or canceled several shows slated for May and June. Last month, she posted an open letter to fans announcing the cancellation of a show in Michigan due to “miscalculation” of the end of medical treatment. In 2010 she canceled a tour to undergo surgery for undisclosed health issues.
Franklin last performed in Atlanta in March 2012 at the Fox.
