While our friends at PolitiFact Georgia typically reserve their digging for matters of political significance, today they tackled the conundrum known as Kanye.
Apparently, Mr. West – who was born in Atlanta and whose father, Ray, was a photographer at the AJC – took his usual humble approach when talking to the New York Times recently about his Grammy wins (actually, he was talking about his new album, “Yeezus” and the topic of the Grammys happened to arise).
"I don’t know if this is statistically right, but I’m assuming I have the most Grammys of anyone my age, but I haven’t won one against a white person,” West said.
Those statements were enough to crank up the AJC Truth-O-Meter. Is West correct in his assumption that his 21 Grammys are the most for a 36-year-old artist? And what about not winning one against a white artist?
