Fierce!

Unlistenable!

By Melissa Ruggieri

Months before launching her “Mrs. Carter Show” world tour, Beyonce has unveiled a new song that might be part of her upcoming fifth solo album.

Don’t expect the glossy horns of “Crazy in Love,” the giddy funk of “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” or even the quiet contemplation of “If I Were a Boy.”

Instead, “Bow Down/I Been On,” produced by Hit Boy, sounds more like video game sound effects with layered electronic drums, rapping and Beyonce snarling repeatedly, “Bow down, b******” and “H-town b******.” While it’s clearly an attempt to coin a new Beyonce-ism, the song seems a bit crude for Queen Bey, no?

Also of note, the lyric: “I took some time to live my life, don’t think I’m just his little wife,” which, we can guess, is in reference to being Mrs. Jay-Z.

Beyonce plays Gwinnett Arena on July 12.
