Earlier this week I talked to Kristian Bushon the red carpet at the CMA Awards, where he happily talked about his upcoming solo album.
His Sugarland partner, Jennifer Nettles, is also readying her own debut, “That Girl,” produced by Rick Rubin, for a Jan. 14 release.
Nettles also plans to hit the road Feb. 13 for a tour of at least 30 cities, including Atlanta, her home for more than 17 years before she and her family – husband Justin Miller and son Magnus Hamilton, who turns 1 next month – edged over to Nashville recently. Dates are expected soon.
Nettles told the AP at the ASCAP Country Awards in Nashville on Monday that her upcoming solo foray has been, “the most intimate and personal…musically and vocally.”
On Wednesday’s CMA Awards, Nettles joined Darius Rucker and Rascal Flatts in a tribute to Kenny Rogers and duetted with the country legend on “Islands in the Stream.”
Sugarland is on hiatus while Nettles and Bush pursue their solo paths.
