The Zac Brown Band has a new low-end specialist.

Matt Mangano has become the official eighth member of the superstar Atlanta country band.

But don’t worry; John Driskell Hopkins isn’t going anywhere.

With the permanent arrival of Mangano, who has played with ZBB over the years live and in the studio on the band’s “Uncaged” and “The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1” releases, Hopkins will become a multi-instrumentalist and handle guitar, baritone guitar, ukulele, upright bass and banjo and also continue to sing and play standard bass.

"We're always growing as musicians and challenging ourselves to bring new things to our fans. Hop is an amazing talent and I can't wait for people to see what we've got coming for the live show,” Zac Brown said in a statement.

As for Mangano, prior to playing with ZBB, he’s toured as a guitarist with John Mayer and performed with singer-songwriters Darrell Scott and Dave Barnes.

The announcement of Mangano’s induction into the Grammy-winning ZBB comes in time for the launch of the band’s “Great American Road Trip Tour,” which launches in May. ZBB will hit Fenway Park for two sold-out shows without any support acts – a feat accomplished only by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band, The Police and The Rolling Stones.

ZBB will play Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood on June 7. Those tickets are on sale now.
