Fans heading to Coachella this spring will be shaking it like a Polaroid picture when OutKast reunites.
The recent rumors that Atlanta's Big Boi and Andre 3000 would get back together for the California music event were confirmed Wednesday night with a tweet from the festival followed by one from Big Boi that said, “Now you know!!! Stay tuned #Outkast.”
Big Boi also posted an OutKast photo on his Tumblr page with the same message to “Stay Tuned!!!”
Fans can now hope that the other rumor - that OutKast will play the area Counter.Point festival, also in April -- will be true. That lineup will be announced Jan. 15.
OutKast, whose 2003 Grammy-winning double album “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below” boasted the No. 1 hits “Hey Ya!” and “The Way You Move,” hasn’t released anything together since the 2006 “Idlewild” film and soundtrack.
The rappers will play the two-weekend festival on April 11 and 18 (also on the bill, Muse, Arcade Fire, Pharrell Williams, Queens of the Stone Age, the Replacements, Lorde, Nas, Beck and Motorhead, among many others).
Tickets for Coachella, now in its 16th year, have been on sale since May. Visit www.coachella.com for details.
