Janelle Monae will help sweep some clouds away when she heads to “Sesame Street” this fall.
The awesomely original soul-pop singer, who lives in Atlanta, recently filmed an episode of the beloved show and will teach the lesson of perseverance during her appearance, which will air during “Sesame”’s 45th season that debuts in September.
Monae sings the original song, “The Power of Yet,” written by the show’s musical director, Bill Sherman.
Monae told Billboard that she was excited to convey the message behind “The Power of Yet” because it’s important to explain to impressionable minds that you should, “Never, ever, ever give up because there’s so much power in ‘yet.’”
