Final Four outing: Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim in Buckhead

Author Emily Giffin is cheering for Syracuse this weekend.

Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim, and his wife, Juli, jumped right into Atlanta's social scene upon arriving for the Final Four.

The Boeheims dined on Wednesday night with Atlanta's most fashionable writer, Emily Giffin, and husband Buddy Blaha, at Buckhead's go-to spot for seeing and being seen, Bistro Niko.

(Here's a link to our interview with Giffin last year, when "Where We Belong" was released. It's out in paperback on April 16).

Giffin's many bestselling novels include "Something Borrowed," which was adapted into a movie starring Ginnifer Goodwin, Kate Hudson, Colin Egglesfield and John Krasinski. But the prolific author of cerebral chick lit is also a huge basketball fan. She served as the basketball team's manager all four years of college at Wake Forest University, where she became good friends with star players like Tim Duncan, Rodney Rogers and Randolph Childress, and wrote the Naismith College Basketball Hall of Fame induction essay for her friend and former Virginia great, Ralph Sampson.

She vows to cheer on Syracuse this weekend. Orange, evidently, is the new black.
