Reese Witherspoon is in Atlanta filming "The Good Lie."

The movie shot a scene at Sugarloaf Mills Mall this week. Here is a photo. That's Reese in the green. She's a brunette now!

Filming took place chiefly at the Athens Kouzzina restaurant in the mall.

"It was really neat," said restaurant owner George Vasilos. Location scouts approached him last week and the filming took place on Thursday. In addition to his restaurant, filming took place in the mall and outside in the parking lot.

"They used some of my staff, some of my servers (as extras)," Vasilos said. "That was kind of neat of them. Reese came in, the director introduced her. She was very nice."

He opened the restaurant in 2006 and this is his first time entering show biz.

"It was good to see what goes into it, the retakes, the sound and temperature. We had to unplug everything and turn off the air conditioning" so there would be no machinery sound picked up by the microphones. "It was a big deal out here. The production company was open and approachable. They were very friendly and receptive to ideas."

The plot of "The Good Lie," as summarized by imdb.com: "The based-on-true-events story follows a young refugee of the Sudanese Civil War who wins a lottery and is transferred to the United States. A brash American woman (played by Witherspoon) helps the young man deal with his overwhelming culture shock, as well as the crippling guilt he suddenly feels about leaving his brother behind in their war-torn homeland."

Witherspoon was here a good bit last year filming "Devil's Knot." Since she arrived this time she's been spotted at Bocado and Yeah Burger. Keep your eyes peeled for future sightings as she likely won't be here all that long this time. After a few weeks of filming here "The Good Lie" will move to Africa.
