"Anchorman 2" cast sightings; "Catching Fire" filming updates

Anchorman 2
Anchorman 2 is filming in Atlanta

By Jennifer Brett

"Anchorman 2" cast members Paul Rudd and David Koechner were spotted at Ecco Friday night.

The comedy starring Will Ferrell has been filming in Atlanta for several weeks now and has a big formal scene coming up later this month. They need snazzily dressed extras if you're interested. Speaking of snazzy dress, here's Ferrell strutting his Ron Burgundy self down the streets of Midtown the other day.

Coincidentally our tipster also spotted John Stamos at Ecco on Friday. (That fried goat cheese must be quite the powerful celeb magnet.) Stamos is here to work on the television show "Necessary Rougness" and tweeted this photo of himself recently. Cute. Stamos evidently wasn't hoping to glide in and out of town unannounced. He tweeted to "Real Housewives of Atlanta" turned actress NeNe Leakes, "Tell me what to do in your town for 5 weeks," pretty much guaranteeing she'd get the word out to her million-plus Twitter following.

In other news the Reese Witherspoon movie "The Good Lie" filmed at Sugarloaf Mills Mall this week (photo here!) and at a church in the Briarcliff/LaVista area Friday night. I think that was probably Peachtree Baptist Church.

The "Hunger Games" sequel "Catching Fire," which was here for a good bit last year, is filming some reshoots today. I'm not sure where this will be taking place but filming sites last year included the Georgia World Congress Center, the Goat Farm Arts Center and the Atlanta History Center's Swan House. That last one was a big party scene for which extras were instructed to show up in costume, so chances are that's not the one being reshot. I'm guessing Goat Farm? I'll let you know if I find out.

The BET show "Being Mary Jane" has been filming in Grant Park, and star Gabrielle Union checked out La Tavola the other night.

Finally, Robin Williams is in town filming a movied called "A Friggin Christmas Miracle," billed as "an upcoming comedy about a dysfunctional family during Christmas time." In other words, a documentary about pretty much every family, every year.

Alright that's it for now. I'm going to a gun show today for work. If I see anyone famous there I'll let you know!
