Reese Witherspoon movie films hospital scene

By Jennifer Brett

The Reese Witherspoon movie "The Good Lie" is filming a hospital scene in the St. Joseph's area today. (Not sure if it's actually filming in the hospital or what. I'll find out).

My Twitter buddy Peachy Scoop posted a photo of this crew sign in the area and a recent casting call was seeking "experienced nurses and doctors" to essentially play themselves in the background.

Last week, the movie filmed at Sugarloaf Mills Mall and a church in the Briarcliff/LaVista Road area. Here's a photo. Witherspoon, who spent time in Atlanta last year filming "Devil's Knot," has been spotted recently in her downtime at Yeah Burger and Bocado.

The plot of "The Good Lie," as summarized by imdb.com: "The based-on-true-events story follows a young refugee of the Sudanese Civil War who wins a lottery and is transferred to the United States. A brash American woman (played by Witherspoon) helps the young man deal with his overwhelming culture shock, as well as the crippling guilt he suddenly feels about leaving his brother behind in their war-torn homeland."

It will film here for a few weeks, then heads to Africa.
