Local radio and television personality Mara Davis is scheduled to take the stage at the Village Theater next month for a program called "The Armando," described as "long-form improvisation in which a monologist tells personal stories that provide the inspiration for the resulting scenes."
The weekly event features local notables who perform on demand. They get on stage and tell stories inspired by one-word suggestions that the audience shouts out.
"I'm so excited," said Davis, a longtime voice at Dave 92.9 FM before it switched to a new sports talk format, is now seen regularly on various CNN and HLN shows. On Thursday she joined Elle Duncan and Karyn Greer for 11 Alive's "Daily Dish."
Her performance is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 10.
"If I'm going to be the butt of anyone's jokes I'd rather hear them in person," she quipped.
This Friday's "Armando" performer will be Dave Willis, creator, writer, producer and voice for Aqua Teen Hunger Force. That's tomorrow night, April 26, at 8:30 p.m.
It's all happening at the Pencil Factory Lofts, 349 Decatur St. Free, secured parking is available in the parking garage behind the theater.
Tickets are available at www.villagecomedy.com or at the door.
