Happy post-Valentine's Day. Here are some star sightings sure to warm your heart!

Good news for fans of “The Vampire Diaries,” which films in metro Atlanta, often in Covington and Decatur, sometimes in Buckhead and lately in Stone Mountain. My colleague Rodney Ho reported on his blog the other day that The CW network has renewed it for a fifth season. Ratings have slipped off a bit this season but it continues to be one of the stronger performers on a network which has become increasingly niche in recent years, targeting primarily 18 to 34 females. So the vampires live on, so to speak. RoHo also had a little vampire-Valentine’s tidbit to share: while he and his wife Helen were dining at The Optimist on Thursday evening, guess who showed up together? Two of the show’s stars, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder.

What do Jake Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Lawrence, Reese Witherspoon and Jane Fonda have in common? Watershed. Each of the entertainers has been spotted enjoying upscale Southern comfort food at the Peachtree Road restaurant when in town for various projects. Gyllenhaal, who’s in town now filming the movie “Prisoners” with Hugh Jackman, Maria Bello, Paul Dano, Terrence Howard, Viola Davis and Melissa Leo, has been seen there a couple of times. In late January he and a friend dined there and sampled the oysters, steak tartare, jambalaya, lamb ragout, coconut cake, sweet potato creme brûlée and hot milk cake. More recently he popped in on Tuesday, took a seat at the bar and tucked into a hamburger with mac-n-cheese and a brew. How does he stay so fit on that lumberjack diet? In between visits he was spotted at Flywheel, the indoor cycling studio in Buckhead. In “Prisoners,” Gyllenhaal plays a detective investigating after two young girls go missing. Jackman plays the father of one of the girls, a carpenter who wants to take things into his own hands, setting him up for conflict with Gyllenhaal’s character.

Susan Lucci has been in town for a while now filming “Devious Maids,” a new drama set to air on Lifetime. She’s been spotted a few times at Veni Vidi Vicci.
