Atlanta-based R&B star Usher popped by Katie Couric's talk show as a surprise guest this week.

The episode airs at 3 p.m. Tuesday on Channel 2. Click this link for a sneak preview.

The show, titled "Headliners and Hit Makers," featured an interview with recording industry giant Clive Davis. He and Katie spent some amount of time talking about the late Whitney Houston. The singer who long battled substance abuse died right before the 2012 Grammy Awards, and Davis talked about his efforts to help Houston toward the end.

On a lighter note, Usher made a surprise visit during Davis' time there. We're not sure what they all discussed but Katie apparently asked one of her famously probing questions.

"Have you been talking to my mother?" Usher said in response to someting she asked.

Tune in Tuesday afternoon for all the details!
