Jake Gyllenhaal, Will Ferrell, Susan Lucci spotted in Atlanta

Filming updates
Stay classy, Atlanta

By Jennifer Brett

I've now heard from numerous tipsters that "Anchorman 2" will be filming at the Silver Skillet in Midtown on Friday. TMZ posted this great photo of Will Ferrell  showing up to the set of the movie, which has been filming in Inman Park and Midtown. I'm not sure which set this shows. I'll continue pounding the virtual pavement to try to suss out more details for you. Or I might just run down there tomorrow and see what I can pick up. You'd be surprised at how much of my job involves me standing around looking dumb. Not real glam. On the bright side I really excel at it.

In other news Susan Lucci, who's here filming the Lifetime pilot "Devious Maids," was spotted at the Buckhead CVS the other day. Someone emailed me a photo but I'm not going to post it. Even though the lady we have known and loved lo these many years as Erica Kane did look positively glam, I think you should be able to buy a greeting card without worrying about the newspaper publishing a photo of it.

Oh, does anyone know if "Devious Maids" is filming at Big Poppa's house today? Someone tweeted me a minute ago asking what's filming there. DM is my guess as it is set in Beverly Hills and the project has used other domeciles boasting Spanish type architecture. Hit me up if you hear anything: jbrett@ajc.com.

OK moving on. Jake Gyllenhaal is still in town. (One of y'all had asked me about that.) He's filming "Prisoners" with Hugh Jackman, which has been filming in Tucker and moves to south Atlanta next week. My Tower Wine friends report he stopped in for some craft brew. Neato.

All right what else? Oh! The TLC movie that VH1 is filming has wrapped some scenes at The Gold Room. I'm also told that they filmed at Ammazza, a pizza place in the Edgewood area. Which reminds me: Ammazza now delivers to Church, which is totally genius. Sister Louisa's Church of the Living Room and Ping Pong Emporium, as it is properly known, had issued a challenge to ping pong champion Susan Sarandon. She has been in town filming "The Last of Robin Hood," also starring Dakota Fanning and Kevin Kline. They've been filming at the Biltmore hotel this week, which you can also look for in the movie "42," coming out next month.

Anyway I'm hearing "Robin Hood" is about done. I'm trying to find out if Sarandon ever locked paddles with Rev. Grant. Up next: "Need for Speed." Details coming soon!

That's it for now. Happy sunny Thursday to you. This is a happy week. Tomorrow's my 16th wedding anniversary! So now I must decide whether to make dinner reservations at the Varsity or Waffle House...you know, staying classy!
