A Cobb County judge has denied a bid by former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Sheree Whitfield to get a protective order against the blogger known as "Tamara Tattles."
In a court filing last month, Whitfield accused blogger Tamara Kay Brawner of stalking her. But after hearing testimony from Brawner and Whitfield during a hearing on Tuesday, Senior Judge Conley Ingram declined to issue the protective order, Brawner's lawyer, Ashleigh Merchant, said.
"The judge absolutely got this case correct by finding there was no evidence of stalking by my client," Merchant said. "I hope that this matter can be laid to rest by all parties."
Except in a separate action, Whitfield is also trying to take out a criminal warrant in Fulton County for Brawner's arrest. And Brawner will fight that as well.
"Since the judge clearly found no evidence to support any stalking on behalf of my client, I feel confident that the warrant will also be dismissed," Merchant said.
In her motion filed in Cobb, Whitfield said Brawner commenced her online blog in October 2011 and has since written in great detail about the construction of Whitfield's home (calling it "Chateau Sheree"), the demise of the actress's reality television career and her legal cases. Brawner took photos of the home and "spied on me without my consent in order to harass or intimidate me," Whitfield's filing said.
At the hearing, Ingram said he felt the parties should stay away from each other and urged both sides to reach an agreement on that, Merchant said, adding that Brawner was willing to do that.
