Tickets are available now for the 2014 Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards, planned for Oct. 11 in the Georgia Ballroom at the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta.
The event, to be aired by Georgia Public Broadcasting, begins with a red carpet at 6 p.m. (this, coincidentally, is also when the cash bar opens), followed by dinner at 6:45 p.m. and the main event at 8 p.m.
This year's honorees include Lady Antebellum (performer award), Collective Soul's Ed Roland (songwriter award), jazz and blues vocalist Francine Reed (pioneer award), Southern rockers Wet Willie (group award) and comedian Jeff Foxworthy (spoken word award) and music industry leader Danny Beard (non-performer award). Posthumous inductees to be honored include Sean Costello, Wally Fowler, Eddie Horst, Bobby Byrd and Frank Fenter.
“This year’s show promises to be a great success," said Dr. Bobbie Bailey, president of the Friends of Georgia Music Festival. "We are excited to continue recognizing Georgia’s outstanding contributions to the music industry as we have done for 36 years."
