Georgia has become the land of movie sequels. We've been home to later editions of "Hunger Games," "Divergent," "Dumb & Dumber," "The Fast & the Furious" and "Anchorman," to name a few.
Now we're getting the third version of "Captain America," which begins filming here in April.
According to Screenrant, "Returning directors Anthony and Joe Russo have already confirmedCap 3 will indeed deal with Steve (Chris Evans) and Bucky’s (Sebastian Stan) complex relationship." There has not been a confirmation whether Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye will return.
The most recent "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" grossed $260 million domestically and $450 million outside North America on a production budget of $170 million. That critically acclaimed film (89% positive among critics in Rotten Tomatoes) was shot mostly in Los Angeles and Ohio.
Plus, Channing Tatum's stripper sequel "Magic Mike 2" will be filming in Savannah.
