Double smexy

Given the impending winter weather I have my TV glued to Channel 2 Action News (as I hope you do) where Glenn Burns, Karen Minton, Brad Nitz and David Chandley are doing a great job keeping us informed so we can prepare.

As a result I happened to see this morning's episode of the Kelly Ripa-Michael Strahan morning talk show "Live with Kelly & Michael" which I usually never see. This morning's guests included Georgia's most famous 8-year-old, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson and "Mama" June Shannon.

Lucky me!

The McIntyre family known for their TLC reality show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" actually is dealing with a serious situation these days. Honey Boo Boo's sister Pumpkin is still experiencing complications from the family's car wreck from about six weeks ago and was hospitalized again in recent days.

It's not clear when the "Kelly & Michael" appearance was taped but there was no mention of the accident. Instead, Mama June let viewers in on how she and Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson met.

"We actually met online, through a Yahoo chatroom," Mama June said, no doubt sparking discussion of an endorsement deal at the highest levels of Yahoo.

"I love when people meet online!" Kelly exclaimed.

"It was kind of a like a hook em and book em kind of thing," Mama June further explained, possibly ending any discussion of an endorsement deal. "Kind of like a you call me, I call you kind of thing. And it just, like, developed from there."

Michael asked for clarity: "Did you say hook him and book him?"

"You know, the phone rings late at night...," Mama June said.

Michael deftly steered the conversation back to G-rated territory, asking what was the most romantic thing Sugar Bear had ever done.

"He actually got the right kind of candles that I like. I’m a huge Bath and Body Works candle freak," Mama June said, possibly resurrecting future endorsement discussions.

"We have about 50 candles in our house in her stock pile!" Alana offered.

Mama June noted, "When they go on sale for 75 percent off and you use coupons you can get them for three and four dollars," possibly scuttling another endorsement deal before it got off the ground.

"That’s right, you are the coupon queen?" Kelly noted.

"Pretty much," Mama June said.

"And I’m the pageant queen!" Alana said, fluffing her hair.

Moving on, Kelly read some reader questions. First, how is Mama June's forklift foot doing? Not bad.

"You can dance still?" Kelly asked, potentially opening the door to a Mama June branding opportunity.

"I’m not going to be on Dancing With the Stars anytime soon," Mama June said.

You're killing me, Mama.

Wrapping up, a reader asked if Mama June would strike her signature "Smexy" pose. She obliged and Honey Boo Boo followed her mother's lead.

"That was a double Smexy!" Kelly applauded.

Quick: Can I get that on an airbrushed T-shirt?

OK back to storm watch!
