Open Hand needs drivers able to handle the roads

If you can safely traverse the roads today, Open Hand could use a hand. Here's a message they just sent:

Though Open Hand Atlanta made extensive preparations to ensure that all of our clients had enough food to weather the impending storm, the brutal road conditions have severely hampered our delivery efforts.  As a result, we are in dire need of help to reach some our most vulnerable friends and neighbors – many of whom have no other food in their homes.  If you or someone you know has a four-wheel drive vehicle and feel that you could safely pick up meals to deliver at noon today,Thursday, January 30, at our  176 Ottley Drive campus in midtown, please contact the Open Hand Volunteer Services team atvolunteerservices@projectopenhand.org or 404-872-2707 to schedule an emergency route.
If time permits:
While Open Hand was closed to volunteers today because of safety concerns, we have had a small group of dedicated employees working around the clock in our kitchen so that we can continue to cook and prepare meals. But we have a lot of catching up to do. So Open Hand will welcome any volunteers with the means to arrive safely at our campus at 176 Ottley Drive in midtown Atlanta tomorrow, Thursday, January 30, beginning at 1:00pm.  Volunteers are needed to work one or more 2-3 hour shifts packaging meals in our kitchen. Please contact Volunteer Services at volunteerservices@projectopenhand.org or 404-872-2707 to schedule the shift(s) that would be most convenient for you.
