TV briefs: Kathy Griffin & CNN, my video on "Real Housewives of Atlanta"

By Rodney Ho

Bravo has cancelled Kathy Griffin's talk show after just two seasons.

But that opens up an intriguing situation for Atlanta-based CNN, according to TVNewser. Last month, she tested a potential show with her buddy Anderson Cooper. The pair have done a New Year's special for several years.

The site also says CNN may revive "Crossfire" after an eight-year break.

Speaking of CNN, its test panel show "(Get to the) Point" ended its week-long experiment with lower ratings than "Anderson Cooper" repeats had had.

CNN's new president Jeff Zucker, by the way, will be at the Atlanta Press Club "Newsmaker" luncheon on April 15. It's sold out. (I'm a Press Club board member.)

AMC's "Mad Men" debuted at 3.4 million, down from last year's debut of 3.5 million.

A&E has renewed "Bates Motel." And "Judge Judy" has a deal now through 2017.

***
The Academy of Country Music show did even better than the CMA show in ratings, pulling in a 15.7 million viewers on CBS, the most in 15 years.

***

NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" (which includes Atlanta's Lil Jon) hit a series low in ratings: 4.5 million viewers.
