Justin Upton's two homers Tuesday gave him an Atlanta Braves-record 11 for the month of April.

Dish Network has declined to pay Fox Sports regional networks for 47 Atlanta Braves games this year so metro Atlanta Dish customers will lose access to games starting this Friday against the Detroit Tigers - unless circumstances change.

FSS added 45 Braves games in February from Peachtree TV and is now the exclusive local provider of 150 Braves games. (Other games are set aside for ESPN, Fox national, TBS and MLB Network.) The games air on either Fox Sports South or SportsSouth.

Dish customers will still be able to view the other 80 or so games remaining in the season, according to FSS.

This won't impact users of oher cable and satellite providers, including AT&T U-verse, Xfinity, DirecTV, and Charter, all who have agreed to FSS's terms.

Dish sent this statement, where the satellite company says Fox Sports South is asking for too much money:

“While DISH has an existing relationship to carry FOX Sports South and SportSouth, we have been unable to come to an agreement to carry a limited number of Atlanta Braves games within the Atlanta market. FOX Sports is asking DISH to pay a significant local surcharge for Braves fans in Atlanta.

“FOX Sports recently took control of the local rights to carry 47 Braves games in Atlanta, in addition to the 105 games for which they already controlled the rights.

“Moving these 47 games to a new network was not our choice and out of our control. Previously these games were available for free over the air on PeachtreeTV (WPCH) and DISH has paid a significant but fair price to carry these Braves games to our customers in Atlanta.

“DISH customers in Atlanta will still receive 105 games on FOX Sports South and SportSouth, but as it stands now, will not receive the 47 games recently acquired by Fox Sports. DISH customers outside of Atlanta will still be able to watch all Braves games carried on FOX Sports South and SportSouth

“DISH is open to a fair deal to deliver these Braves games to our Atlanta customers, but this surcharge does not allow us to uphold the DISH promise to deliver the best content at the best value.”
