Jerome Jurenovich, who does pre and post-game shows for the Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Braves, is leaving 92.9/The Game's mid-day shift after tomorrow.
Terry Foxx, his boss at the Game, said Jurenovich's duties at Fox Sports South have increased, and it has become a grind for him to do a four-hour radio talk show shift and handle both the Hawks and the Braves.
Jurenovich started his show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with Jamie Dukes in late October at the Game's launch and after the Atlanta Braves 2012 season had ended. So the pressures have only become apparent since the Braves season began. (Of course, his Hawks duties should be over relatively soon, no matter how far they get in the playoffs.)
Foxx said he will have a replacement soon. He said Jurenovich will do some freelance work for the Game in the future.
Among the shows on the Game, the Dukes/Jurenovich combo was considered one of the better ones, based on feedback I've seen on this blog. And ratings were among the stronger ones at the six-month-old sports station.
This is the second major departure from the Game since the October launch. The other was C.J. Simpson, a morning co-host who left for a job with the L.A. Sparks, replaced by Kristen Ledlow.
