Lifetime has given the cleaning ladies of "Devious Maids" a second season, a no brainer given the ratings.
The show, shot primarily at EUE Screen Gems in Atlanta but set in Beverly Hills, is similar to "Desperate Housewives" because it's created by Marc Cherry. The jaunty music, the delicious plot twists, the sharp verbal exchanges. It's all there. The show was originally shot as an ABC pilot but ABC rejected it last year so Lifetime wisely scooped it up.
On a competitive Sunday night, "Devious Maids" opened at a modest 2 million but built close to 3 million viewers by week five. The numbers have slipped the past couple of weeks. Through six episodes, the show is averaging 3.5 million viewers counting DVR usage up to a week after.
