Lee Thompson Young, who played Det. Barry Frost on TNT's most popular drama "Rizzoli & Isles," committed suicide, his publicist confirmed today.
The South Carolina native was 29.
TMZ said he didn't show up on set today, which led them to check in on him at his home, where his landlord found his body.
Atlanta-based TNT released a statement a few minutes ago:
Everyone at Rizzoli & Isles is devastated by the news of the passing of Lee Thompson Young. We are beyond heartbroken at the loss of this sweet, gentle, good-hearted, intelligent man. He was truly a member of our family. Lee will be cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him, both on- and offscreen, for his positive energy, infectious smile and soulful grace. We send our deepest condolences and thoughts to his family, to his friends and, most especially, to his beloved mother.
Young starred in a Disney show from 1999 to 2001 called "The Famous Jett Jackson." He has had roles in CBS's "The Guardian," ABC's "Flash Foward" and the film version of "Friday Night Lights."
